Academic and Administrative Buildings
All academic and administrative buildings on campus have wired network ports in each office and classroom plus many open areas to meet the needs of teaching, staff functions, and events. If special needs arise for changes in network availability, contact the Help Desk.
Residence Halls / Apartments
In addition to wireless service, each room in the residence halls and Bryan Apartments provides a single operational wired network port. An inactive port may also exist with a plug blocking off the port; please do not remove the plug from that port. If you need multiple wired connections at the same time, you will need to purchase a small network switch. Do not use a wireless router as the wireless signal will interfere with the building’s wireless network used by other students. If you are using an older network switch or hub, make sure the cable from the wall is connected to the “uplink” port, and, if necessary, the “uplink” button is depressed.
Note: Jacks that are colored orange or red are for phone service and will not give you a network connection.
Internet service to the Flats and Village on Grand Ave. is provided by CableOne, not IT. For issues with service in those locations, you will need to contact CableOne; the SEED office can assist if you need help contacting them.
