Austin College utilizes a registration system for the wireless network; only registered devices can connect to the wireless network.
In order to register, a student must have network login information. A student’s network username and password are the same as his Austin College email username and password, except that no domain should precede the username. For example a person logging into email as “academic\jsmith” would register only as “jsmith”.
To register, connect to the AC_WIRELESS or AC_SECURE wireless network anywhere on campus. Some devices will immediately open up the registration page. If the registration page does not open automatically, open a web browser and try to connect to any web page.
On the registration page please click the check box next to “I accept the terms” and enter your network username (without domain – e.g. jsmith)and password. Click the login button to register the device. You will see a progress bar while the device is being registered. Once it is full, your device should be registered.
Some devices do not cooperate will with the initial registration. If you cannot access web pages after registration, try turning wireless off and back on or rebooting your device.
For any questions, please contact Helpdesk at 903.813.2063 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Austin College requires all users connecting to the network to register their computers and networkable devices online in order to maintain network security. For some devices without a web browser, such as gaming consoles and media devices, the wireless MAC address will need to be sent to the Help Desk for registration. See more information on finding the wireless MAC on your gaming device.
