These instructions, along with screen shots, will show a user how to add content to their course.
Start by accessing https://moodle.austincollege.edu and logging into the site.
Once logged in, located in the center of the page the section titled Course Overview, here you will have courses that you are the instructor. Click on the appropriate course for you to edit.
After clicking on the correct course you will be taken to the course’s main page. The course’s main page will be the location for editing. Start by locating the button in the upper Right Hand corner of the screen titled Turn editing on. Single click this button.
The screen will quickly refresh and load in an editing mode. Your next step will be to locate the Topics section which is in the center of the screen. For your first Topic you will need to start with Topic 1 as indicated below. Single click + Add an activity or resource.
A small box will pop-up with several options to add, you will want to scroll down and select File. After file has been selected you will need to single click Add located at the bottom of the pop-up box.
A new screen will load titled Adding a new File to Topic 1. There will be two main areas of information; General & Content. These will be only required fields.
Starting with General you will need to Name file and give a brief description. These will be for instructor purposes only unless the indicated check box below is marked. This will allow the information displayed to all registered to the course. The check box is titled Display description on course page.
On the same page you will need to scroll down and find the section titled Content. This is where you select your file to be uploaded by single clicking the File Upload icon as indicated below.
A new pop-up will load, this is the window you will actually use to browse to your file. Start by single clicking Attachment: Choose File.
At this point an additional pop-up will load giving you to ability to browse to the file on your local computer or network. This is similar to sending an attachment via email. Once the file has been located, single click the file and click Open.
This will take you back to the screen on seen on step 9 with the exception of the file you are uploading will be listed to the right of Attachment: Choose File as seen in the example.
You will now be brought back to the main content screen where you will see your file uploaded. At this point, you will need to single click Save and return to course.
Once you saved the changes you have made by uploading your file you will be taken back to the course’s main page. In step 3 you were instructed to turn on Editing Mode, in this step you will need to turn it off as you are complete. Still located in the upper right hand corner you will see Turn editing off. Please single click this button to complete your file upload.
Important Note: If you have more than one file to upload to multiple Topics, you can repeat Step 3 through 12 and only do step 13 once fully complete.
